Opening Tactile the first time

Tactile isn't notarized by Apple yet, so macOS asks you to confirm it once.

  1. Open Tactile.dmg and drag Tactile into Applications.
  2. Open Tactile. macOS says it can't verify it. Click Done.
  3. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway next to Tactile.
  4. Click Open Anyway in the popup and enter your Mac password.
  5. When asked, switch on Tactile in Input Monitoring. Start typing.
Is it safe? Yes. Tactile only notices when a key goes down so it can play a sound. It never records, saves or sends what you type, and it has no internet access. The warning shows up because the app isn't notarized yet, not because anything is wrong.
